Toward an official e-petition

Campaign commitments on this site are not Parliamentary signatures yet. The goal is a sponsored House of Commons e-petition (e-###) — that needs a Member of Parliament. Build public signal here (X + Nostr + Canada campaign), then use the official path when an MP is ready. Honest counts only — no inflated totals.

How Nostr works (30 seconds)

Keys, not accounts

You create a keypair. Public key = your address (npub…). Private key signs notes — never share it. Optional NIP-05 like sherpa@sherpacarta.org makes it human-readable.

Relays, not silos

Notes are JSON events pushed to relays (simple WebSocket servers). Clients fetch from many relays. The network is the product — not one database.

Clients compete

Damus, Primal, Amethyst, Snort… switch apps without losing followers. Competition improves UX; the protocol stays stable.

Digital rights need a public square that cannot be quietly deleted. Charter amendments, campaign discussion, and civic voice belong on open rails — Bitcoin for money, Nostr for speech.
